{"id":3514,"date":"2023-06-01T18:57:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-01T16:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/azelec.be\/le-nouveau-rgie-change-a-partir-du-1er-juin-2023\/"},"modified":"2025-01-07T13:03:22","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T12:03:22","slug":"the-new-rgie-changes-since-1-06-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/azelec.be\/en\/the-new-rgie-changes-since-1-06-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"The new RGIE changes since 1\/06\/2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The <strong>new RGIE<\/strong> changes since 1\/06\/2023<\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<p>A number of new RGIE rules have been in place since 1 June 2023, most of which concern home electrical installations:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<li>the communal areas of a building are considered to be non-home and consequently need to be inspected every 5 years.\u2028<\/li>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<li>protective measures against indirect contacts have been widened! In addition to the general residual current protection device (a.k.a. RCD or Residual Current Device) at the start of the installation (min. 40A, max. 300mA), the following circuits must be protected by a subordinate residual current protection device (max. 30mA):\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<li>bathroom and shower circuits.<\/li>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<li>washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher circuits.<\/li>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<li>lighting circuits.<\/li>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<li>socket-outlet circuits not intended to power fixed or stationary appliances.<\/li>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<p>with the additional limitation that a maximum of 8 terminal circuits per RCD listed above are permitted.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<p>A number of major changes are also in store for old electrical installations dating from before 01\/10\/1981:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<li>AC residual current devices are no longer authorised.<\/li>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<li>residual current devices that cannot be sealed are no longer authorised.<\/li>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<li>sockets without an earth pin must be protected by a residual current device with a maximum residual current of 30mA.<\/li>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<li>bathrooms and showers, as well as washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers must be protected by a residual current device with a maximum rating of 30mA.\u2028<\/li>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container alll-container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-row row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"alll-rowInner alll-rowInner--general\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new RGIE changes since 1\/06\/2023 A number of new RGIE rules have been in place since 1 June 2023, most of which concern home electrical installations: with the additional limitation that a maximum of 8 terminal circuits per RCD listed above are permitted.
